rasdaman (raster data manager) dient zur Online-Navigation und -Analyse von multi-dimensionalen Rasterdaten unbegrenzter Volumina (2-D x/y blattschnittfreie Karten, 3-D x/y/t Bild-Zeitreihen und x/y/z seismische Daten, 4-D x/y/z/t Klima-Modelle u.v.m) in relationalen DBMSen. Sowohl kommerzielle als auch Open-Source-DBMSe sind mit rasdaman im operativen Einsatz. Der Datenzugriff geschieht über OGC WMS bzw. WCS, über die SQL-basierte Raster-Anfragesprache oder über C++ und Java APIs.
